Drifter Dreams wants you to feel 100% confident with your purchasing decision and your bohemian bridal gown (as well as on your big day!) so we have put together some frequently asked questions.   • Where do your gowns come from?
    Our designer, Shikoba Bride, is based in South Manchester UK. All of our dresses are designed, produced and finished in the highest quality, and then carefully packed and shipped directly to our store. You can learn more about Shikoba Bride here.
  • How do I order a dress?
    All of our gowns are custom designed and custom made-to-orderr in the UK. They are not pre-made and immediately ready to ship. Therefore, you are required to schedule an appointment to come into our store for a bridal shopping experience, where you can try on our gown samples. Book an Appointment
  • How far in advance should I book my appointment?
    We’d suggest booking your appointment as soon as possible after getting engaged. (Congrats, btw!) As a minimum, we’d suggest booking your bridal shopping experience 7-9 months before the big day, as our gowns to take 4-6 months to be produced and shipped to our store.
  • Can you do rush orders?
    The dress creation and shipping process takes 4-6 months, depending on the design. However, we do offer a 10-week rush order for an additional fee. Please let us know at the time of booking your when your wedding date is, and if a rush order will be necessary.
  • Do you offer customized gown designs?
    Although our designer doesn't make custom one-off designs to order, many of our dresses offer a number of options to customize them. If you wish to make a none-standard customization to a gown, please discuss these desires with us at your bridal shopping experience appointment. We will consult with our designers and do our best to accommodate your request. Please note that these customizations may incur additional costs, depending on the request. These additonal costs will be quoted, prior to completing your order.
  • Do you offer returns and/or refunds?
    We don't! Every Drifter Dreams dress is individually made-to-order for each bride. Therefore, all sales are final, all payments are non-refundable, and orders cannot be cancelled once placed.
  • Will I need alterations?
    Even though our gowns are made-to-order, based on your measurements, we cannot guarantee a perfect fit or a perfect length of your wedding dress. Drifter Dreams Bridal and the designer of your dress do their absolute best to minimize the number of alterations you may need, but almost all brides (99%) require some alterations and/or hemming of their dress, regardless of where the dress is purchased or by which designer.
  • Do you offer alterations?
    Yes! We have an in-house alteration specialist at Drifter Dreams Bridal. If you choose to use this service, our specialist will meet with you at your first fitting to take measurements for alterations.
  • Are alterations included in the price?
    No, all alterations and bustling the train are a separate charge, above and beyond the price of your wedding dress.
  • How much do alterations cost?
    Standard Alterations - this includes hemming, side seams and bustling the train can range anywhere from $200-$800, depending on what needs done, how ornate (layers of fabric, lace/beadwork, etc.) the dress is, and any weight changes (gain/loss) since getting measured. Extensive Alterations - these may be more costly. Specific requests for custom changes to your gown may exceed the $800 range. If you are pregnant at the time you purchase your gown, or if you become pregnant after purchasing your gown, alterations will like be extensive and will require additional fittings. Additional rush charges - these may apply if you begin your alterations one month or less prior to your wedding.
  • What if I lose weight before the wedding?
    We think you are fabulous just the way you are! We’d always recommend buying the size you are at the point of ordering, as the gown can be altered by your seamstress after it arrives. However, if you think your size may change drastically from the time you place the order, speak to us about it so we can advise.
